Special Mention - Auszeichnung für saltego                                                    in der Kategorie Working Spaces                                                                                   Neben den Auszeichnungen in den Kategorien würdigt die “Special Mention” Arbeiten, deren Design besonders gelungene Teilaspekte oder Lösungen aufzeigen. Im Juryprozess sind es Produkte, die die meisten Punkte erhalten haben, sich aber im direkten Vergleich den Winner-Produkten der jeweiligen Kategorie knapp geschlagen geben mussten.

  10. saltego – the new workstation with 270° leg space

    saltego, a workstation with 270° leg space, both in the home and in a purely commercial environment is optimally fulfil ergonomic and aesthetic requirements.

    Basis is an electronically adjustable worktop which can be elevated to a height of 131 cm, tilted to an angle of 10 degrees and which rests on just one supporting column. Hence the 270° leg space. The continuously height-adjustable desktop appears to float freely but is supported by a lifting column. Cables, engines, and control unit are integrated into the sub-structure. Extras are a lowered monitor level, tilt function, rear panel, a room partition and several desks can be grouped together. By loosening no more than 8 screws, users can create their own colour and material combinations. The models saltego Control, saltego Work, saltego Trade and saltego Form make this possible by offering a variety of colour and design options.

    zweiTnuTz entwirft Tischwäsche, Plaids und Kissen aus den Naturstoffen Leinen, Hanf und Baumwolle. Jedes Stück ist ein Unikat.

    Mehrmals im Jahr entwickeln die Hersteller von hochwertigen Stoffen Muster für die unterschiedlichsten Kollektionen. Diese Musterstücke dienen als Proben für die Designentwicklung, und haben bei Erscheinen der neuen Kollektion ausgedient. Und es gibt noch so viel mehr Stoff- und Webmusterproben, die es nicht in die Musterbücher geschafft haben. Allesamt sind  sie hochwertig, wunderschön und viel zu schade zum wegwerfen.

    Aber was tun damit? Die Textilingenieurin und Designerin Claudia Warda hatte die Idee, daraus ein Tischtuch zusammenzustellen, das in Farben und Webmuster perfekt harmoniert. Ein Unikat in Material und Gestaltung, das ihren großen Esstisch schmückt und ihren Gästen so gut gefiel, dass sie allein mit ihrer Hobbyproduktion der Nachfrage nicht mehr nachkommen konnte. Auf der Suche nach einer Näherei, die nach ihren Vorgaben Tücher herstellen kann, stieß sie auf die Alexianer Werkstätten, integriert in eine Fachklinik für Menschen mit psychischer Behinderung. Das Nähen ist ein Bestandteil der Arbeitstherapie. Die Stoffstücke werden zu zweiTnuTz-Unikaten in Handarbeit zusammengestellt und genäht. Mittlerweile sammelt Claudia Warda in renommierten Webereien Probestücke, Webmuster und Reste, die zunächst gewaschen und gebügelt werden, damit nichts mehr einlaufen kann.
